Sir Thomas Dyke Acland, 11th Baronet was born 25th May 1809 in Killerton and baptized the following 15th of June at Columbjohn Chapel, Killerton. He was taught in Christ Church, Oxford where he became a member of the Royal Society in 1839. He was an advocate of and committed to educational reform. He became a Member of the Parliament for the constituencies of Somerset West, Devonshire North and then Wellington. Acland Died in 1898.
