Cub was born on April 2, 1929, in Portland, N.Y., and was the son of the late Ray and Maude (Rees) Colt. He lived his entire life in this area. He was a retired foreman from Welch Foods of Westfield, N.Y. Cub also served his country in his earlier years in the U.S. Army.
He belonged to the American Legion John W. Dill Post 434 of Brocton, N.Y. Besides enjoying his wife and family, he enjoyed his time with his poodle "Muffy."
He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Winifred Colt, whom he married on March 15, 2002; two stepsons: Daniel Noftsker of Brocton, N.Y., and Charles Noftsker of Cape Coral, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Wendy Woleben of Brocton, N.Y.; a stepdaughter, Betty Palmer of Fredonia, N.Y.; a stepson, Donald Sortre of Florida; nine step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Roy Colt of Stockton, N.Y.
He was predeceased by four brothers: Floyd, Alvin, Paul and Clyde ("Jim") Colt; three sisters: Buelah Markham, Beverly Caraker and Audrey Wright; and also his former wife, Marjorie. Interment will be at the Portland Evergreen Cemetery in Portland, N.Y.
