John W. Biggers, son of Floyd and Ollie Biggers, was born December 19, 1925 and departed this life, April 24, 2014 in his home, at the age of 88.
John was a U.S. Army veteran. He married Mary Kathryn Pomeroy on September 10, 1955. John was raised on a farm, and continued working that farm, until his passing, with his son, Johnny, at his side. John knew every aspect of farming, which included baling hay, raising beef cattle, and milking cows. He had a strong work ethic and instilled those values in those around him.
He was also a carpenter and built several houses during his lifetime. He had a remarkable ability to turn his ideas and make them a reality.
John was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary; a son, Robert Eugene; his siblings, Virda Byrd, Jessie Biggers, Stella Dulin, Ella McDonald, Henry Biggers, Nellie Biggers, Ethel Kittrell, and Mary Gall.
Survivors include a son, Johnny and his wife, Lorinda; a daughter, Iris Smith and her husband, Randy; four grandchildren, Nathaniel Parrigon and his wife, Lis, Tara Balven and her husband, Chris, Amanda Joy and her husband, Jason, Carrie Kotara and her husband, Derek; two great grandsons, Easton Parrigon and Jaxon Joy; a sister, Edna Bell Walker; a sister-in-law, Patrice Pomeroy; and a brother-in-law, Barry Gall.
Burial in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Seymour.
