Adolph "A. F." Borchardt was born March 10, 1875 in Dodge County, Wisconsin to Frederick Ludwig Borchardt and Marie (Milbrod) Borchardt. He was a tall man who smoked a pipe.
He died September 5, 1961, age 86, probably in Mooreland, Woodward County, Oklahoma, which is where he lived at the time, and where they had lived for many years. A. F. and Daisy lived just north of where the Mooreland Landfill is currently located.
A. F. married Daisy Covington on November 29, 1900. They celebrated their Golden 50th Wedding Anniversary in 1950 and had been married for fifty-seven (57) years at the time of Daisy's death on June 23, 1958.
A. F. and Daisy (Covington) Borchardt had nine (9) children who were Cecil Lawrence Borchardt, Lenora Violet (Borchardt) Watkins, Caroline Silvia Marie "Carrie" (Borchardt) Morris, Frederika Daisy "Fredia" (Borchardt) Dye, Franklin Louis "Frank" Borchardt, Hannah Dee (Borchardt) Foglesong, Alice Louise (Borchardt) Sachs, Nellie Delight (Borchardt) Whitcomb and Adolph Frederick William "Sparky" Borchardt.
Adolph "A. F." was a real Cowboy when he first moved to Woodward County, Oklahoma. Later, he was a was a farmer and dairyman in Mooreland, Oklahoma and milked fifty (50) cows and sold the milk to Armour's Dairy in Woodward, OK. As they got older, the children had to help with the chores and the milking of the cows.
Daisy passed away first, and in about three (3) years, A. F. passed away in 1961. The Borchardt Family allowed their brother, Cecil to continue living at the Borchardt Home Place in Mooreland, OK. After Cecil's death in 1963, the place was sold.
