Fannie S. Thompson

LAKE PLACID—Fannie S Thompson, 89 , of Averyville Road, Lake Placid, died Saturday May 26 2001 at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac lake.

Born Feb 18 1912 in Lake Placid, she was the daughter of Augustus and Balance Morehouse Southmayd. She was predeceased by two husbands :
Kenneth Whittemore and Ellis Thompson.

Mrs. Thompson had worked at the Lake Placid Club for several years prior to retiring in 1970. She was a former member of Placid Star Chapter, Order of Eastern Star and United Methodist Women.

She is survived by one daughter and her husband, Ruth and Foresst Walton of Lake Placid, two sons, Donal Whittemore and his wife Victoria, and Gary Whittemore, all of Lake Placid; a sister and her husband Vivina and Burton Van Luven of Canastota; 16 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and nine
Great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband , one daughter Jean Whittemore Gray, and two brothers, Orlando and Ralph Southmayd.

There are no calling hours. Services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, May 30 at the Adirondack Community Church in Lake Placid. Her son in law, the Rev. Donald Gray of Deep Run NC and Rev. Mark Demers will officiate. Burial will follow in the North Elba Cemetery. The Clark Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. #47826497
