She was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church. She graduated from Murray State University and taught at Columbus Elementary, Arlington Elementary and Central Elementary. She became Supervisor of Instruction and Director of Federal Programs for the Hickman County Schools in 1975.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, R. B. Berryhill; two sons, Charles L. (Denise) and Chris L. Berryhill; one brother, Rev. Phillip Yancy; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lacy L. and Bessie Cooper Yancy; three sisters, Opal Mitchell, Carleen Bloodworth and her twin sister, Ida Euretta Berryhill; two brothers, Gordon and Donald Yancy; and two infant brothers.
