Brooks Abbott
(March 12, 1938 - April 23, 2014)

Brooks Abbott was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico in the late 30's. A graduate of Northside High School, Abbott went on to Texas A & M in College Station, graduating in 1960 with a bachelor of science degree in education, psychology and history. Brooks went into the Air Force as an officer and stayed three years. He was transferred to a base in the Cottswald District of Southern England, R.A.F. station Fairford, 30 miles from Oxford. He was honorably discharged in September 1963 as a 1st Lieutenant.

Brooks is survived by his wife, Linda Shore Abbott; his son, Clay Abbott and his wife, Alejandra; his grandchildren, Alex and Mia; his 2 step-children, Ryan and Stacey; 4 step-grandchildren, Levi, Sevy, Fritz and Ellie; sister, Ann Finch and husband Gary Finch.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 26 at Donnelly’s Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving.
