William O'Brien Sr.

William O'Brien Sr., 62, Rt. 2, Denmark, died Monday afternoon at home after a heart attack. Born Sept. 14, 1909 he lived in the Town of Franklin and was a lifelong resident. The son of the late William and Margaret Marinan O'Brien married Eva Scanlan Jan. 15, 1935 at Cooperstown. Mr. O'Brien was a member of the Holy Name Society and the Ushers Society of his church, Stangleville C.O.F. He served as clerk of the Town of Franklin, director of the Denmark Co-Op, and chairman of the A.S.S.A.

Survivors are his wife; two sons, Dennis, Minneapolis, Minn.; William Jr., at home; four daughters, Mrs. Marvin (Kathleen) Hoerth, Rt. 1, Maribel; Mrs. Donald (Sheila) Kemnitz, Green Bay; Miss Helen, Mosinee; Miss Colleen, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Edward Fronk, Manitowoc; Sister Bernadette, Los Angeles, Calif.; eight grandchildren. One son, Patrick, and one daughter, Maureen Rich, preceded him in death.

At DeWane Funeral Home, Denmark, after 2 p.m. Wednesday. Parish wake service 8 p.m. Wednesday. Holy Name Society and C.O.F. Rosary 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral 10 a.m. Thursday with a Concelebrated Funeral Mass at St. James Church, Cooperstown, with a brother-in-law, the Rev. Lambert Scanlan of Lebanon officiating, and the Rev. James Geenen of Cooperstown officiating. Burial in church cemetery.
