Sidney L. Blondell, 70, Mooresville, passed away at 6:52 p.m. on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at the St. Francis Hospital and Health Centers in Indianapolis.

He was born on Thursday, June 3, 1943 in Osage, West Virginia, to the late Burley and Mary (Snowden) Blondell.

Sid was a forklift operator at the Chrysler Foundry until 1986 when he had to retired due to a disability. He was a member of the Way of The Cross Church and the Mooresville Eagles Lodge. He enjoyed singing karaoke, fishing and camping.

Survivors are his wife, Sarah C. (Hale) Blondell, whom he married on November 27, 1964; sons, Walter R. Blondell of Mooresville and Jerry E. Blondell of Martinsville; daughter, Tracey L. Hopper of Mooresville; siblings, Terry Blondell, Jimmy Blondell, Martha Kegley, Patricia “Crickett” Carpenter, Barbara Jazior and Carolyn Baker; 17 grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Earl L. Blondell, seven infant sons and one infant daughter; and a brother, Junior Blondell.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 2, 2014 at Costin Funeral Chapel with Rev. Todd Bailey officiating. Visitation will be at Costin Funeral Chapel on Thursday, May 1, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday one hour prior to the funeral service.

Burial will be at New South Park Cemetery
