Dale Eugene Erdman, 84, of Eureka, passed away at 8:07 a.m. Friday (April 25, 2014) at the Richard L. Owens Hospice Home, Peoria.

He was born April 26, 1929, in Chenoa, to William Christian and Henrietta Louise Schwager Erdman. He married Judith Louise Kuerth on June 6, 1959, in Bloomington. She survives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Dale graduated from Chenoa High School. He was a member of the U.S. Navy from 1947 to 1949, then was drafted into the Army, serving during the Korean War. Early on, he farmed and then became an agricultural salesman for A.O. Smith Harvester, Effingham. He was an onsite engineer for Snell Brothers John Deere and Truss Slater Building Co., both in Virden. He enjoyed being a lifeguard and taking care of the pool, watching his grandchildren swim and was a Cubs fan. He and his wife were lifelong and faithful members of Trinity Lutheran Church, Girard. He loved the Lord and the example he set for his family is his greatest legacy.
