Raymond G. Marqui, 55, of Rhinelander, WI , formerly of Zion, IL passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at the VA Medical Center in North Chicago. He was born to Geraldine (Copp) and George E. Marqui, on April 28, 1953 in Waukegan.

He graduated from Our Lady of Humility Grade School and Zion Benton High School. After serving in the US Navy, he returned to Zion and worked in the warehouse at Abbott Labs, American Hospital Supply and Medline. His love of nature and the Northwoods led him to Rhinelander, WI where he lived for 12 years. He enjoyed art, working mostly with oils and abstract art. He was a member of the American Legion and loved to fish.

He is survived by his mother, Geraldine Marqui; eight brothers and sisters, Patrice Marqui Hilke of Loveland, CO, Susanne (Glenn) Vollmer of Belleville, IL, John Marqui of Zion, IL, Janet (Richard ) Cox of Winthrop Harbor, IL, Charles Marqui of Bristol, WI, James Marqui of Zion, IL, Sharon (James) Carmody of Pleasant Prairie, WI, and Mary (Christopher) Prondzinski of Spring Grove, IL; nephews, Eric and Ross Poliakon, Chade and Tony Marqui, Tyler Prondzinski; niece Caitlin Carmody; uncle, Thomas (Sheila) Trenkle; aunt, Charlotte Marqui and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, George E. Marqui; maternal grandparents, Antone & Frances (Svete) Copp, paternal grandmother, Florence (Beckmann) Hall; aunt Doris (Copp) Trenkle and uncle, Kenneth Marqui.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 Wadsworth Rd, Beach Park, IL with visitation from 10-11am. Interment is private. Donations may be made in his memory to Our Lady of Humility Church or The American Cancer Society. Arrangements were under the care of the Salata-Gurnee Funeral Home, 4190 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee, IL.
