Born in West Chester, PA on September 22, 1920, Al was a son of the late Albert Franklin Gray, Sr. and Mabel Meredith Gray.
He proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII. Al made his career as a manager with the Container Corporation of America, retiring in 1981 after 35 years of dedicated employment.
A devout Christian, Al gave of his time and talents to his church and served as a deacon at Haines Creek Baptist Church while living in Florida. He was a current member of Fairwinds Baptist Church. Al was an avid fisherman and enjoyed playing golf in his leisure time. He was a devoted and loving family man who will be dearly missed.
In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Inez Marie Gray, who passed away in 2008, daughter, Alberta Dougherty, his brother, James Gray and sisters, Mabel Willon and Frances Brothers. He is survived by his daughters, Nancy Munzert and husband Fred and Pat McCallister and husband Mac; brother, Charles Gray; 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday morning, May 2, 2014, at The Chapel of Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where family and friends may visit from 10 am until 11 am.
Interment will follow in the adjoining memorial park.
