Robert managed the U.S. Senate campaign of Senator Hugh Scott in 1964, the campaign of Arlen Specter for District Attorney of Philadelphia in 1965 and the campaign of Raymond Shafer for Governor of Pennsylvania in 1966. In 1968 Mr. Nixon appointed him Administrator of the General Services Administration. Robert was appointed to the court by President Nixon in 1972 and served until his death in 1982. At the time of his death he was survived by two children, his father and a sister.
