Mary was born September 29, 1930 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Edward and Catherine (Kemmeter) McGlin. She loved the Green Bay Packers. Mary enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. She was always available for anyone that needed help. Mary was a machine operator for Foster Needle until her retirement in 1995. After her retirement she volunteered for the Salvation Army.
Survivors include three sons: Venton Speidel Sr. and Brian Speidel, both of Manitowoc, Howard Speidel, West Allis; one daughter: Joann Van Abel, Manitowoc; one stepson: Douglas (Carolyn) Speidel, Hopkinsville, KY; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Eddie and Sally McGlin, Two Rivers, Kenny and Sylvia McGlin, Manitowoc; two sisters: Celia Bashaw, Manitowoc, and Ruthie Smith, Iowa. She was preceded in death by one great granddaughter; one brother: Robert McGlin; and one brother-in-law: Henry Smith.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, February 3, 2014 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
