Mary Alevina Drake, widow of Joseph E. Drake, died last Friday at the home of her son, William C. Drake, in Trenton in the 73d year of her age. She had been in ill health for almost a year.

The deceased spent nearly all her life in this vicinity. For many years she and her husband resided on a farm near Beattystown. Later, they moved here and Mrs. Drake conducted a remnant store here for a few years. Leaving here, she continued in the same business in Trenton and New Brunswick, until about a year ago when she was compelled to retire on account of failing health.

She is survived by four sons, Charles of Morristown, Alvin and George of New Brunswick, William C. of Trenton; her surviving brothers and sisters, Charles V. Cougle of this place, Mrs. Elijah Ort of Beattystown, John, Lewis and Welch Cougle of Trenton.

Funeral services were held at her late residence Monday evening. The body was brought here by automobile hearse Tuesday morning and interred in Union Cemetery.

Also known as Mary Olivia Cougle, daughter of Elizabeth Van Voorhees 1816-1891 and William Cougle 1813-1878. She married Joseph Kitchen Drake 1839-1902, son of James and Catherine (Kitty) Drake. They had five children, all b. NJ.
