Clarence L. Becker, 49, of 1911 S. 15th St., Manitowoc, died Monday evening at home following an apparent coronary attack.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. John United Church of Christ, Manitowoc. The Rev. Richard Schmitz will officiate and burial will be in Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Town of Kossuth, where American Legion Drews-Bleser Post 88 will conduct graveside services.

Mr. Becker was born April 9, 1919, in the Town of Lebnan [sic], Waupaca County, son of the late Daniel and Tiffie Jahnke, Becker. He moved to Manitowoc as a young boy and attended Manitowoc schools. He married Ruth Hotz Aug. 30, 1941, at Sheboygan. During World War II, he was an Electrician Mate Third Class in the Navy and was honorably discharged in 1946. Mr. Becker was employed at Craft Electric Co., Manitowoc, for 10 years and was foreman of the maintenance department of the Manitowoc Board of Education. He was a trustee of St. John United Church of Christ and member of United Commercial Travelers.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Thomas and James at home; a brother, Daniel Jr., of Manitowoc; three sisters, Mrs. Arthur Covaulet of Otsego, Mich., Miss Ruth Becker of New London and Mrs. Louis Ozga of Two Rivers and two half-sisters, Mrs. Earl Reed of New London and Mrs. Leonard Gort of Sheboygan.

Friends may call at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after 5 p.m. Wednesday until 11 a.m. Thursday when the casket will be taken to the church where the body will lie in state until the time of service.
