Betty Anna Allen Peebles, 79, of Alamogordo, passed away December 26, 2012. She was born December 24, 1933 in Armijo, NM the youngest of Charles and Beatrice Byers.
On January 24, 1953 she married Robert H. Peebles. After Bob died, Betty married Tom E. Allen.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Robert H. Peebles in 1982 and Thomas E. Allen in 2000 and by a sister, Ruth Crandall.
Interment will be at Angus Cemetery. __________________________________

Peebles. Betty and Bob raised three children in Alamogordo, where Betty worked seasonally as a tax preparer and later cared for her aging mother and mother-in-law. After Bob died, Betty married Tom E. Allen on June 30, 1984, and they traveled around the United States. Later, she served as a volunteer for Cancer Awareness, Prevalence Prevention and Early Detection (CAPPED), Inc., and 20 Years for Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) in Alamogordo.
Survivors include her children, Henry Peebles, and wife, Diane, of Albuquerque, Steve Peebles and wife, Chris, of Richardson, Texas, and Elizabeth Wood and husband, Dusty of Tularosa; a sister, Lucille Appleman, of Enterprise, Oregon; a brother, Charles Byers, and wife Peggy of Wichita Falls, Texas; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Services will be 9 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at the Alamogordo Funeral Home; 2301 First Street in Alamogordo, with the Rev. Bob Reno officiating.
