Woodford R. "Woody" Abner died at his hom at the age of 57. He was a self-employed building contractor; an Air Force veterand of the Korean War and attended Worldwide Church of God. Military graveside service and burial will be at Weddelville Cemetery.
Born Sept 22, 1933 in Winchester, KY, he was a son of Janie Ginter Abner and the late Pleas Abner. He moved to Jackson County from Naples FL in 1987. He married Mary Jo Burcham on 5/9/1980, in Naples. She survives.
Also surviving are children Robby, James, Saundra and Tammy Abner; Steve and Denny Burcham and Kathy Moore, Debbie Goben and Patty Harris; a granddaughter whom they raised, Misty Abner; brothers William S., Boyd, E. Harold, Raymond L., Ernest, Robert L., Paul and David Abner; sisters Lida Greer, Mary Lou Sharer, Sally Guthrie, Patty Nelson, Carolyn Thompson and renotta Wilcox; and 19 other grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother.
