Rites Held Here For Mrs. Bessie L. Reams-

"Services for Mrs. Bessie L. Reams were held Sunday, June 20, at 2 p.m. at the Pettijohn & Crawford Funeral Home in Mound City. The Rev. John Kerr, Bedford, Iowa, officiated. Interment was in the New Liberty Cemetery.

Mrs. Reams died at the Pearl Terrace Manor, Bedford, Iowa, Friday, June 18, at the age of 87 years. She was born Bessie Louella Lawrence, daughter of H.B. and Mary Curry Lawrence, at Craig, Missouri, June 15, 1878. Her entire life was spent in the Holt County community with the exception of three years in her early married life when she lived in Oberlin, Kansas.

She resided in Maitland 27 years, until the death of Mr. Reams in 1945. Illness then forced her to make her home with her daughters. The past three years she has been with Mrs. Galey in Bedford.

In February of 1899 she was united in marriage to Isaac Newton Nauman, who preceded her in death in 1914. To this union were born Lawrence Nauman and Mary Nauman Galey of Bedford, Iowa. Lawrence preceded her in death in 1948.

She was united in marriage to Hiram D. Reams in March, 1916. To this union were born Bessie Reams Brock of Webster Groves, Missouri, and Jean Reams McClure of Marshall, MO.

In addition to her daughters, she is survived by her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Velma Nauman, of St. Joseph; three granddaughters, and four grandsons.

Pallbearers were H.B. Lawrence, Roy Lawrence, Robert Lawrence, Ralph Gomel, Charles Brock, and Larry McClure."
