Obituaries DAVENPORT -- Funeral services

Celebrating the Life of LeMar D. Lindberg, a resident of Davenport, will be 10 a.m. Friday, September 15, 2006, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2136 Brady Street, Davenport. Burial will be in Oakdale Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 until 7 p.m. at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home. There will be additional visitation on Friday from 9 a.m. until service time at the church.

Mr. Lindberg died unexpectedly on Sunday, September 10, 2006, at his residence following a sudden illness. LeMar D. Lindberg was born September 2, 1925, in Belmont Township Jackson County, Minnesota, a son of Anton and Anna (Doll) Lindberg. He was united in marriage to Bonnie Rae Muir on December 26, 1946, in Jackson, Minnesota. They would have celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary in December.

He retired from IBM, Moline, Illinois, after 40 years of service. He was a Field Engineering Specialist for both Hardware and Software Support.

He was proud to have served our country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of 10th Mountain Division.

Lindy gave generously of his time assisting our community on various committees as well as being an active volunteer on several area boards.

Memorials can be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or to the Wisconsin Parkinson Association.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie, Davenport; daughters and a son-in-law, Kristine Sherman and Karen and Paul Caldwell, all of Davenport; grandsons, Lee Sherman and John Sherman, and their father, Dan Sherman; a brother and sister-in-law, Delmar and Leona Lindberg, New Hope, Minnesota; a sister-in-law, Wilda Lindberg, Lakefield, Minnesota; and numerous nieces and nephews.
