JOHANNA SCHMITT
(1886 - 1965)
Mrs. Johanna Schmitt, 79, formerly of 1709 Franklin St., Manitowoc, died early Friday morning at the home of a sister, Mrs. Christ Grunnel, of Downers Grove, Ill.
Funeral services will be at 8:30 a.m. Monday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 9:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. John F. Conrad will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
The former Anna Pozorski was born May 24, 1886, at Kewaunee, daughter of the late Peter and Mary Donarski Pozorski. She came to Manitowoc as a child with her parents and was married to Alban Schmitt at St. Mary Church, May 10, 1920. He died in November of 1945. She resided at Manitowoc until three years ago, moving to Downers Grove to make her home with the sister. She survives along with nieces and nephews. A son, Edward, died in May of 1935 and three brothers also preceded her in death.
Friends may call at funeral home after 3 p.m. Sunday where the Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.
