William "Bill" Hubbard William "Bill" Hubbard, 78, of Milan, Missouri, passed away, Sunday, April 13, 2014, at his home.

The son of Robert Cal and Ruth (Frishkorn) Hubbard, he was born April 15, 1935 in Zelienople, Pennsylvania.

On July 20, 1956 in Germany he married Marga D. Volkel and she survives.

Also surviving are three children, Heidi Nicol Hubbard of Milan, William Cal Hubbard (Sandra) of Lawrence, Kansas, and Ingrid Ruth Durbin (Tracey) of Warrensburg, Missouri; and two grandchildren, Ragan and Sally Hubbard.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert Cal Hubbard.

Bill and his family moved to Milan when he was ten and was a 1953 graduate of Milan High School. He joined the U. S. Army during the Korean War and served in Germany. Following the war he attended and graduated from the University of Missouri in Columbia. Bill was a Eagle Scout and for many years served as Scout Master. He served as Director of High Hope in Milan for several years and was actively involved with the Special Olympics for several years. For many years he served as Juvenile Officer for the 9th Judicial Circuit until he retired in 2005. He had served as Chairman of the Sullivan County Democrat Central Committee, Chairman of the 6th District Democrat Committee, and on the State Democrat Committee. Bill owned and operated Hubbard's Gun Shop for over 50 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 228, past member of Milan J. C.s and a Life Member of the NRA. Bill was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Milan.

Mr. Hubbard wished to be cremated. A memorial service was held 11:00 Am Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Oakwood Cemetery in Milan with Pastor David Lukefahr officiating.
