Jerry L. Howe, Sr. born May 21, 1938 to Hugh C. Howe and Harriet M. Howe, departed this world to join his parents, 13 siblings and Savior in heaven on May 1, 2014. Jerry was comforted by many friends and family during his last days at the Taylor House in Des Moines, IA.

Jerry grew up in Dallas Center, IA and graduated in 1956. He was the youngest of 14 children and often lamented that his siblings grew up and moved out, but the family garden never got any smaller. Jerry joined the military in 1956 and soon after began his family that culminated over a 20 year period to include four sons and three daughters. Jerry's passion in life was his family and his craft. He was a skilled construction interior and exterior finisher that also possessed skills that extended into many other building trades. Jerry enjoyed working along side family and passing along his knowledge to his sons, grandsons, cousins, nephews and many other extended family members over the years.

Jerry was a magnificent man with an infectious personality and loving heart. His legacy will be the many beautiful memories and meaningful relationships he built over the years.

Jerry is survived by his four sons and three daughters and their families, Tara Wadle, Bobbie Sue (Chuck), Jerry Howe II (Susan), Scott Wright (Lisa), Chase Wright (Sarah), Hugh Howe (Tracy), Amanda Webb (Maurice); 20 grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren with one on the way.
