Lois A. Laurin, age 75, a resident of Harmony of Two Rivers, formerly of 1711 East St., Two Rivers, died peacefully Friday morning, July 18, 2003 at Harmony, after a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, July 21, 2003 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Parish - St. Luke Site, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. William G. O'Brien, with burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers.
Lois was born May 17, 1928, in Two Rivers, a daughter of the late George and Delores (Kohls) Karl. She attended St. Mark Parochial School and Two Rivers Washington High School, graduating with the class of 1946. On May 8, 1948, she married Kenneth Laurin at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Two Rivers. The couple were long time members of St. Luke Catholic Church, where Lois was a member of the Altar Society, Resurrection Choir and a lector at the church. She was also a member of the Two Rivers Senior Center; she enjoyed bike riding; loved to play bingo and was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband: Kenneth; two daughters and a son-in-law: Catherine LeClair of Green Bay and special friend, Al Jensen; and Susan and Michael O’Loughlin, Indianapolis, Ind.; three sons and two daughters-in-law: Mark and Terry Laurin, Two Rivers; Paul Laurin, Manitowoc, and special friend, Michelle Sornson; and Andrew and Holly Laurin, Two Rivers; 12 grandchildren: Jodi (Steve) Hanek; John (April) LeClair; Justin LeClair and special friend, Ann Maricque; Jeff LeClair and special friend, Sarah; Jennifer LeClair; Eric O’Loughlin and special friend, Kari; Matt (Lisa) Laurin; Adam Laurin and special friend, Beth; Joshua, Emily, Ian and Erin Laurin; six great-grandchildren: Brianna Hanek; John and Morgan LeClair; Gabrielle Maricque; Cyan Rain Laurin; and Jordan Szydel. She is further survived by two sisters and a brother-in-law: Elaine Buth, Manitowoc; and Doris (William) Teche, Janesville; nine brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter: Debra Laurin; son-in-law: John LeClair; mother-in-law and father-in-law: Joseph and Josephine Laurin; a brother-in-law: Elroy Buth; one nephew: Bill Buth; and one niece: Mary Lynn.
Friends may call at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, Two Rivers, from 5 until 8 p.m. Sunday, and at the church on Monday, after 12:30 p.m. until the time of Mass at 1:30 p.m. A parish prayer service will be held at 7:45 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, led by Father Bill.
