ALLEN BLEWETT HARRISON was born in Columbus, Mississippi, April 3, 1852 and died there, May 3, 1922. Unmarried. He was Deputy Sheriff of Lowndes County for a term of years. At one time he owned a plantation at Deerbrook, Noxubee Co., Miss. When he died, he left the bulk of his estate to the Presbyterian Orphanage in Columbus, near which instution he lived, thereby expressing his appreciation for the friendliness that the children had shown to him, when passing his home. An editorial appeared in the Columbus Commercial Dispatch, eulogizing his memory for such a commendable act.
