SCHAUMBURG - Jane Annette Morris, nee Groop, 71.
Loving mother of Amy Williams, Eric Morris and Jennifer Morris.
Dear grandmother of Briana and Tyler Williams and Sweetie.
Loving sister of Dale (Connie) Groop. Fond aunt of Ellen, Alisha and Katy.
Jane worked at District 211 (Schaumburg High School) in the Food Service department for over 25 years.
She was also a member of the Schaumburg Citizens Police Academy.
She loved gardening, crafts and especially enjoyed road trips.
She will be missed by many.
Visitation is 4 to 8 PM Friday at Ahlgrim and Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, 330 W. Golf Road, Schaumburg.
Funeral prayers 9 AM Saturday at the funeral home to St. John's Lutheran Church, 101 N. Spring St., Elgin. Mass 10 AM.
Interment Lakewood Cemetery, Elgin.

Cause of death, brain cancer.

Schaumburg , Ill.: Jane Morris , 71, of Schaumburg , died on May 3, at her home after a courageous battle with brain cancer.

Jane Annette Groop was born to Edwin and Norma (Laurilla) Groop of Frederick on Sept. 10, 1942. She grew up in Savo Township in Brown County and attended country school. She graduated from Frederick High School in 1960. She moved to California, where she worked for the Bank of America. She moved to Chicago, where she worked for United Air Lines and then she married Earl Morris .

Jane was the loving mother of Amy Williams; and grandmother of Briana and Tyler of Elgin, Ill., Eric Morris of Sioux Falls and Jennifer Morris of Cary, Ill.

Jane worked for the Schaumburg School District in the food service department for over 25 years. She retired in 2012 and looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren in the area and with her son, Eric, in Sioux Falls. She was a member of the Schaumburg Citizens Police Academy. She loved gardening, crafts and especially enjoyed road trips.

Last January, she and her brother Dale, traveled to California to visit many childhood friends and relatives. She traveled to California with her children and grandchildren for another visit in Jan. of 2014.

In 2013, she was diagnosed with brain cancer. After a courageous battle, her journey finally ended at her home May 3, 2014.

Along with her children, she is survived by her brother, Dale and his wife Connie of Frederick and their daughters: Ellen (Mike) Arens of Sioux Falls, Alisha (Leeav) Amar of San Jose, Calif., and Katy Groop of Fargo; great-uncle, Everett Laurilla of Frederick; and a number of cousins.

The funeral service for Jane was held May 10, at St. John's Lutheran Church at Elgin with the interment at Lakewood Cemetery, Elgin.
