Mrs. Clarissa E., widow of Hiram S. Wilkison, of near Circleville, died Monday night at nine o'clock, aged 81 years. She died very suddenly of paralysis having been unusually well although this was her fifth stroke.
The deceased was born Jan. 30, 1816, and was a daughter of Chlore Merchant Mowry. She was born on what is known as the Howard Shaw farm.
She was married Oct. 24, 1840, by the late Elder Gilbert Beebe to Mr. Wilkison who died last September. They lived at their present home since April, 1844. They had five children, three of whom died in infancy. Cornelia a., died Sept. 29, 1893. One daughter survives, Sarah E., residing at home. The deceased also had three brothers and one sister.
Mrs. Wilkison was a member of the Old School Baptist Church for nearly forty years. Her grandmother was first cousin to Alexander Hamilton."
