Laura Alice Grammer was born April 6, 1906, in Anna, the daughter of Andrew and Della Young Arnold.

Siblings include Mrs. Eva Poole of West Frankfort; Mrs. Ella Arnold of East St. Louis; Mrs. Alma Arnold of Detroit, Michigan and E. L. Arnold of Algonquin.

She married Yona B. Grammer on January 15, 1952, in Piggott, Arkansas. He died in 1964.

Her children include Mrs. Helen Qualls of Murphysboro; Mrs. Betty Collins of Granite City; Mrs. Margaret Walton of Vallejo, California; Mrs. Marcicann [sic?] Billen of O'Fallon; Billy Scarbrough of Granite City and Benny Scarbrough of Washington Park.

One daughter preceded her in death.

Mrs. Grammer died at the age of 62 in St. Joseph Memorial Hospital.
