CHELMSFORD, MA – Dale R. Call, 88, former resident of Haverhill, MA for twenty-six years and Charlestown, MA for twelve years, died on April 8, 2014 at the VA Medical Center in West Roxbury, MA.

Born, raised and educated in Eastport, son of the late Oscar and Mary Theresa (Higgins) Call, Mr. Call served as a Torpedoman Third Class in the United States Navy during World War II. Following his honorable discharge from the Navy he worked as a lobster fisherman off the coast of Maine for many years. Most recently he was employed by local companies.

He was a member of the Knights of Pythias, the Ralph A. Ray Post #558 V.F.W. and the Fred Mitchell Post #11 American Legion, all of Eastport. He was also a former Committee Leader of Troop 707 of the Boston Council of the Boy Scouts of America and former Scout Master of Troop 121 in Eastport.

He was the husband of the late Goldie M. (Hayward) Call and is survived by a daughter, Pamela D. Macomber and her husband Joseph of Charlestown, MA; four sons, Richard A. Call and his wife Phoebe of Chelmsford, MA, David A. Call and his wife Karen of Sandown, NH, Douglas L. Call and his wife Debra of Newton, NH and John W. Call and his wife Diana of Londonderry, NH; thirteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Burial will take place at Hillside Cemetery in Eastport. (Mays Funeral Home)
