Margaret I. Batchelder, age 87, a resident of the Hamilton Care Center, Two Rivers, died late Monday night, January 13, 2014, at the center.

Margaret was born on May 10, 1926 in Two Rivers, daughter of the late Paul and Esther (Wilsmann) Streubel. She attended St. John's Lutheran Grade School, graduated from Washington High School with the Class of 1944 and earned her degree in nursing from Milwaukee General Hospital - School of Nursing in 1947. Margaret was employed as a registered nurse in Rockford, Illinois, from 1950 until 1973 and at the Two Rivers Community Hospital from 1973 until her retirement in 1989. Margaret was a wonderful mentor to the new nurses on her staff and also enjoyed taking care of her flowers.

Survivors include her son: Paul Batchelder, Oshkosh; her daughter: Cathy (James) Kehm, and their son, Andrew, Glenbeulah; one brother: Timothy Streubel, North Carolina; one sister: Esther Maschinski, Illinois; her caregivers: Charlie and Ann Wilsmann; along with other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother: Paul Streubel and a granddaughter: Nichole Kehm.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2014, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 17th & East Park Sts. Two Rivers. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. David Arndt with burial of her cremated remains in Pioneer Rest Cemetery, Two Rivers.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Saturday morning, January 25, 2014, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 10:00 a.m.

Memorials in Margaret's name may be made to St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
