Son of Gustav and Viola Haese Abel and was married to Zapora Behnke on May 8, 1948 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brillion.

Allan D. Abel, age 75, of N7965 Bastian Road, Brillion, died on Thursday, November 19, 1998 at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday November 22, 1998, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Brillion. The Rev. Richard Scheibe officiating, with burial in the church cemetery.

Mr. Abel was born on August 26, 1923, in Marinette County, son of the late Gustave & Viola (Haese) Abel. He married Zapora A. Behnke on May 8, 1948 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Brillion.

He served in the United States Army during World War II and was stationed in Hawaii for over two years before being honorably discharged. Following his tour of duty, he worked for the Harley Davidson Co., Milwaukee, while also farming part time. In 1956, he moved to Brillion where he farmed and resided ever since. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran church, Brillion and served on the Church Council.

Survivors include his wife, Zapora of over 50 years; his children, Delmar (Mary) Abel, Germantown, Marilyn (Jim) Davis, Appleton, Glenn (Judy) Abel, Brillion; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; also survived by one brother and sister-in-law; Larry & Susan Buege, West Bend. Many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Wallace.
