MRS. WILLIAM KOCH

Mother Found Dead in Bedroom
Mrs. William Koch, 54, with her throat and wrists slashed with a butcher knife, was found dead in an upstairs bedroom of the farm home, three miles west of Reedsville shortly after 10 o’clock this morning by her daughter, Grace.
Coroner Theodore Teitgen, who was summoned, said Mrs. Koch had been despondent ever since she learned that a son Kenneth, recently returned from the service, would have to go to an army hospital shortly for an operation. The coroner said there will be no inquest.
Mrs. Koch, the coroner said, had been about doing the household duties as usual this morning, preparing breakfast for her husband and the children. She had also ironed. The clothing, neatly piled with the owner’s name labeled on each pile, was found by the members of the household later in the morning.

When the daughter got no response to her call to her mother she went to the bedroom to find the latter dead on the bed. She summoned her father and brother from the barn.

Survivors are the husband, three sons, Wilbert, Kenneth and William, Jr., and a daughter, Grace.
The body was taken to the Luecker funeral home in Brillion. Funeral plans are incomplete.
