Leonora Mathilde Emilie Maertz, 100, of Chilton Health and Rehabilitation Center, passed away June 5, 2001.
She was born Sept. 22, 1900, in the Town of Cooperstown, daughter of the late Otto and Julie (Olp) Knuth. She was married Oct. 8, 1919, to Henry August Wilhelm Maertz at Maribel. She was a member of St. Bartholomew Ladies Aide and the Lutheran Women Mission League.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Kienetz, Appleton; two daughters-in-law, Ruth Maertz and Grace Maertz; her grandchildren, Wayne and Shelly Maertz, Joan and Bob Schultz, Michael Kienetz, Mitchell and Holly Kienetz and Michele Kienetz; ten great-grandchildren, Tim and Andrew Maertz, Shannon Corbiel, Lucrecia and Dustin Calderon, Catrina Tesch, Jeremy, Mindi, Nathan and Sam Kienetz; four great-great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Dawson Calderon, Austin and Levi Kienetz.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry on May 4, 1960; two sons, Leonard and Hubert; two sisters, Emma Krieser and Elsie Bruss; one brother, Arthur Knuth.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2001, at St. Bartholomew Lutheran Church, 105 Horn St, Brillion with the Rev. Mark Krueger officiating. Burial will be in the Trinity Cemetery.
