Bank Robber, Leader of the notorious Stopwatch Gang. Was on the FBI most wanted list for stealing approximately $15 million during the 1970-1980s from 140 banks across Canada and the U.S. He escaped from prison three times, and moved to the Philippines for 15 years, where he re-married and had a son. During that time, he often flew back to the U.S. to visit banks. Finally, in 1994, he was convicted for a solo robbery in Mississippi and put in prison for the last time to serve a 65-year sentence.

MITCHELL, Patrick "Paddy" 1942-2007 Family will receive friends at Pinecrest Visitation Centre (2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa) on Thursday, January 25th from 11 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at noon. A reception will follow at the Prescott Hotel on Preston Street from 2 to 5 p.m.
There was a memorial service for the notorious bank robber at Pinecrest Cemetery at noon, then a reception at St. Anthony's on Preston Street, where the Mitchell clan was raised in the 1940s and '50s — seven brothers and sisters — with Paddy the youngest.
Mitchell was a driver for the Pure Spring soft drink company. Mitchell was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2006 and died in the Federal Medical Centre in Butner, N.C. in the prison hospital at age 64. He is survived by Richard, Kevin, Michael Jindrick and two grandsons; Joey, 15,and Jacob, 13.
