Ethel Abston died after an illness of two years. She was 79 years old.
She was previously a resident of Stearns, McCreary County, Kentucky. She was a past director of the McCreary County Red Cross Chapter. She was a charter member of the Laurel Heights Chapter Eastern Star in McCreary County, Kentucky. She was a member of Stearns Baptist Church.
She was survived by her husband, Watt Abston; her sister, Alta Massengale; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wolford Martin and Betty (Atkerson) Martin.
Funeral services were held on March 6, 1980 at the chapel of the Somerset Undertaking Company with Reverend Douglas Strader officiating.
