Died - Peter Meiklejohn at the residence of his son Hon. G. D. Meiklejohn in Fullerton on Tuesday night February 10th, 1891.

The deceased was born in Putnam, Washington county, New York, in 1818 and was about 73 years of age at his death.

Mr. Meiklejohn moved to Weyauwega Wisconsin in 1857 and spent most of his life there. He lived in Fullerton during the winter of 1881-2, returning to Stephens Point, Wis., where he remained until December 1890 when he returned to spend the remainder of his days with his son in Fullerton.

His wife Hannah, died at Stephens Point in 1885.

The remains of the deceased were taken to his old residence in Wisconsin on Wednesday accompanied by his son G. D. Meiklejohn. The funeral cortege was accompanied to the depot by the Masonic order.

OSHKOSH DAILY NORTHWESTERN, Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Friday, February 13, 1891:
Peter Meiklejohn, father of ex-Lieut. Gov. Meiklejohn of Nebraska, died at Fullerton, Neb., Wednesday morning. The remains were brough back to Weyauwega for interment.

THE GAZETTE, Stevens Point, Wisconsin, Wednesday, February 16, 1916:
Peter Meiklejohn, father of Mrs. Jas. Rice and Will Meiklejohn of this city died at Fullerton, Neb. on Wednesday morning last. For several years the now deceased gentleman made his home in Stevens Point,and it was while here that his wife died. For the past few years he has been living at Phillips, this state, and in Nebraska.
