He was the grandson of James G.A. Duty and Littia Anna WHITLOCK Duty and maternal grandparents, Jefferson Simmons, Jr. and Sarah ISAACKS Simmons.
He was a military veteran and a retired river boat operator.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Everett and Ernest, his sisters who included my mother Audrey, Edith, Opal, Faye, Mildred, Ann, and one son, Charles Dale, Jr.
His survivors included his children, Brenda, Connie, Robert, and Shelleen, one sister, Helen Sommers, and nine grandchildren.
His funeral service was held on December 12, 2005 at Dupo, Illinois with his niece Mary Null officiating.
His interment was at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with full military honors.
Uncle Charles Dale is much loved and missed by us all.
