Mr. Robert T. Mellichamp, age 85, of Alexandria, La., passed away Friday, September 24, 2004, at Healthsouth Riverside in Alexandria, La. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a 32nd Degree Mason for more than 50 years.. He was a retired United States Air Force Major Command Pilot during World War II and a native of South Carolina. He and his wife had made England Oaks Senior Community their home since 1998.
He was the son of the late William Mellichamp and the late Hattie (Strom) Mellichamp.
He is survived by his wife Myrtle (Pendarvis) Mellichamp of Alexandria, La.;
One Daughter, Marsha Ruth Holton of Traveler's Rest, S.C.
One Son, Robert A. Mellichamp of Houston, Texas
Two Sisters, Ann Allman of Brunswick, Ga. Harriett Ellis of Kingstree, S.C.
One Brother, William L. Mellichamp, Jr. of Charlotte, N.C.
One Brother-In Law B.J. Pendarvis and his wife Doris of Georgetown, La.

Services are under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield, La., where the family will receive friends from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM Saturday, September 25, 2004. Funeral services will be at Southern Funeral Home Chapel at 2:30 PM Saturday, September 25, 2004 , with Rev. Lamar Carpenter officiating. Interment will be at Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery near Tullos, La.
