He was born on July 20, 1926, on Cushing Street in South Portland, the son of Raymond P. Sr. and Lydia (Oliver) Cushing. He attended South Portland Schools.
Raymond was a Navy veteran, having served in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and family. Nature and birds were his passion.
Raymond was predeceased by his parents; and his wife Geraldine, who passed away in 2012. He will be sadly missed by his daughters, Raylene Reid of East Baldwin, Carol Duran of Biddeford, Donna Mailman of Windham, Linda Beaulieu of Raymond and Carlene Kinney of Scarborough. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and his sister-in-law, Nancy.
There will be a celebration of life, with military honors at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of A.T. Hutchins Funeral and Cremation Services, 660 Brighton Ave., Portland.
