Clint Upchurch was a beloved son, husband and step-father. He lived a life of service to others. He worked with the Finney County Sheriff's Office for seven years in the jail, on the Drug Enforcement Agency Taskforce and as a Patrol Deputy.

As a young man, he wanted to enlist in the Army. He delayed his enlistment until 2004. After he enlisted, he was assigned to the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 3rd Special Troops Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

Clint had served in Iraq for just over 3 months. He was the gunner on the first humvee of three that were escorting higher-ranked officials. A roadside bomb went off near his humvee and the convoy he was in came under attack from small arms fire. Clint died defending his fellow soldiers.

Clint was posthumously promoted to Specialist.

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. - John 15:13
