Son of William Tarr and Mary Perry. Grandson of Peter Tarr. Grandson of Mary Harper and James Perry, a Revolutionary soldier.

1st marriage Jan. 24, 1848 to Mary Hammond. She was the eldest daughter of Talbot Hammond. Mary died May 25, 1849. Children: Belle who married Edwin Allin, of Brunswick, MO.

2nd marriage May 25, 1851 to Nancy Hammond (sister of Mary). Nancy died Jan. 6, 1863. Children: Hammond who moved to Sabetha, Kansas; Elizabeth who married Oliver S. Marshall of New Cumberland, West Virginia. Elizabeth died Jan. 22, 1887 (See FAG # 92888314); Fannie H. married Hon. C. L. Brown of Ravenswood, West Virginia.

Elizabeth Tarr married Oliver S. Marshall on Sept. 8, 1880.
Oliver Marshall was the son of James G. Marshall and Lavina Miller. { Oliver S was born in 1850. Oliver S' father was Lt James Gordon Marshall and his mother was Lavina Miller. His paternal grandparents were John Marshall and Elizabeth Hayes; his maternal grandfather was John Miller and his maternal grandmother is Elizabeth. He had two brothers and a sister, named Erastus Dryden, John F C and Ida May. He was the oldest of the four children. He died at the age of 84 in 1934.}

3rd marriage 1864 to Mary Beninghaus, widow of Hiram Beningham of Wheeling, Ohio. Children: May Louise.
