Benjamin Howell Rowlands was the last child of 11 Children born to Howell W. Rowlands and Mary Jane (Myers) Rowlands. He was born and raised in Lexington, Illinois & received a degree from Iowa College in 1911.

Benjamin Rowlands' Draft Registration record dated June 5, 1917 Gives us the following information about him. This record lists him as tall, medium build, Grey eyes & Light brown hair.

This same draft registration gives his birth date as April 29, 1888 and lists him as Single, Born in Lexington, Illinois.

1 1/2 years after this Draft Registration we find a death record for Benjamin on January 1, 1919. He died during the flu epidemic that began in 1918.

Benjamin died in Wells County, Indiana but was laid to rest in the Rowlands Section of Lexington Cemetery in Lexington, Illinois.
