Ruth Laverne Fountain Akridge, 90, of Center, passed away Friday, May 9, 2014 in Carthage. She was born July 15, 1923 in Nacogdoches to James Obie Mancil and Nettie Fussell Mancil. Ms. Akridge was a member of Center United Pentecostal Church in Center.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Monday, May 12, 2014 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Watson & Sons Chapel with Bro. Kerry Green and Bro. Andy Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Salem Cemetery in Center.
