Lucille June Petrashek, age 82, departed from this world very peacefully during the early morning hours on Thursday, March 25, 2010, at the Hamilton Care Center, Two Rivers, with her daughter Jane and her son-in-law Francis (Yu Cheung) by her side.

A life-long resident of Two Rivers, Lucille will always be remembered for her spunkiness, her concern for others, her love of traveling by car all over America with her husband, her unbeatable pumpkin pies, her crocheted rugs and afghans (often given to her children as gifts), and her special affection for anyone from a different background than her own - especially her Chinese son-in-law who could always make her laugh.

Lucille was born on June 14, 1927, in Two Rivers, daughter of the late Louis and Catherine (Baumgart) Steeber. She attended St. Luke's Grade School and was a graduate of Washington High School with the class of 1945. On Feb. 7, 1948, she married Max Petrashek at St. Luke's Catholic Church, Two Rivers. He preceded her in death on Dec. 2, 2006.

Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law: David Petrashek and Margery Katz, Madison, Steven and Becky Petrashek, Kalispell, Mont., and Mark Petrashek, Sun Prairie; two daughters and sons-in-law, both of Madison: Mary and Dr. Robert Ziino, Jane and Francis (Yu Cheung) Shum; two grandchildren: John Ziino and Casey Petrashek; one great-granddaughter Kaylee; and one sister. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters, and one brother.

A private memorial service was held at Klein & Stangel Funeral Home, Two Rivers. Cremation has occurred and Lucille was laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers.

The family wishes to specially thank the caring and compassionate staff at the Hamilton Care Center, who were like family to Lucille during her last few years.

O my God! O Thou forgiver of sins, bestower of gifts, dispeller of afflictions! Verily I beseech Thee to forgive the sins of such as have abandoned the physical garment and have ascended to the spiritual world. O my Lord! Purify them from trespasses, dispel their sorrows, and change their darkness into light. Cause them to enter the garden of happiness, cleanse them with the most pure water, and grant them to behold Thy splendors on the loftiest mount. - Baha'i Prayer.
