Marcella C. (Fellbaum) Beckman, 88, was claimed by the Good Shepherd to go to the green pastures, to lie by the still waters on Saturday, May 10, 2014, peacefully surrounded by her family.

Marcella was born on April 12, 1926, to the late Edwin and Leona (Mueller) Fellbaum of Marathon.

She married the love of her life, Peter S. Bielen, in Mosinee, on Oct. 23, 1946. He was tragically taken from her and their three boys on Nov. 30, 1961.

On May 21, 1978, she married George F. Beckman, a wonderful man, who was to be her life companion until his death on Feb. 21, 2003.Marcella was a woman ahead of her times who faced life with single-minded persistence. Her talents included gardening, cake decorating, cooking and sewing. When called on by necessity, and to take care of her three boys whom she loved more than anything, she completed her degree, and became an accomplished business woman. She worked for many years at the Murray Employee Credit Union in Wausau, eventually becoming its manager.

In death, Marcella taught us dignity, in situations where there was none; graciousness and kindness at times when most of us would be bitter or complaining; steadfast faith which sustained through many trials; good humor and quick wit which took the sting out of sadness; and strength beyond measure even when the body only provided weakness.Marcella repeatedly told her family how proud she was of us, likewise, we are proud and blessed that she was our mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She was generous beyond measure providing love and care to us all.

Marcella is survived by her three sons, Gary (Kathy) Bielen, Wausau, and Roger (Shirley) Bielen and Tom (Diane) Bielen, both of Mosinee; her grandchildren, Jeff Bielen, Wausau, Brian Bielen, Oshkosh, Becky Krause, Mosinee, Peter Bielen, DePere, and Holly Malinowski, Chicago; her great-grandchildren, Trevor Bielen, Wausau, and Kaitlyn Krause, Mosinee; her brothers and sisters, Romana Ulrich, Wausau, Arlyle (Carl) Schmidt, Kronenwetter, Arden (Arleen) Fellbaum, Hamburg, Darlene (Raymond) Osness, Port Washington, Donald "Tojo" Fellbaum and Ardell Salzwedel, both of Wausau, Lorna (Joseph) Grabko, Hatley, and Sharon Schultz, Wausau; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, her two babies, Steven and Lynn, her brothers, Vernon and Dennis Fellbaum, and her sister, Beverly Fellbaum.

Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery.
