Corporal Leonard S. Harrow (Horowitz), a weather observer assigned to Detachment E, 21st Weather Squadron, was riding in a truck that suddenly found itself in the middle of a firefight with German infantry during WWII. In an attempt to turn the truck around after the driver was shot, the vehicle hit a landmine, killing Harrow instantly.
