Albert Church enlisted on April 18, 1862 age 21 as a Musician in Company G. 2nd Battalion, 18th U.S. Infantry. He later served as Principal Musician of the 8th U.S. Veteran Volunteers in the Civil War.

In the Census of Chicago in 1900 he is listed age 60 with his wife Georgiana age 53 and daughter Francis M. age 27.

He received a pension for his war service beginning in 1907 and his widow Georgiana L. Church received a widows pension beginning on May 11, 1911.

Albert was a member of the Grand Army of the Republic Post 5, Chicago, IL.

At the time of his death he is shown as a jeweler by profession and living on Fulton Street, Chicago, IL.
