Mr. Landrum was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Milam Landrum Sr., and Nell White.

He had just completed his junior year in the Hunnewell High School when he enlisted in the Army. He received his training at Camp Hood, Texas, Camp Chaffee, Arkansas, and Camp Gruber, Oklahoma. He went overseas Feb. 3, 1945 and was killed in action in Germany April 9, 1945. He was in the infantry of the 9th army.

Embarked overseas February 3, 1945 to France.
Was killed in action in Germany in the service of his Country April 9, 1945.
Awarded Expert Rifleman's Badge, Combat Infantry Badge and Purple Heart.
