Edna June Fraizer, age 64, Carl Junction, passed away at 8:40 p.m. Monday, Jan. 31, 2011, at Freeman West Hospital. Edna was born April 21, 1946, in Joplin, to the late Victor DeCastro and Mary Jones Cusick and had lived in the Joplin area all of her life. She was a homemaker and had worked at the former King Louie for 11 years. She was known by all the neighborhood children as "MeMaw". Edna married Merle Fraizer on Oct. 3, 1964, in Carl Junction. He survives at the home. Additional survivors include three daughters, Stacy Bankson and her husband, Danny, Riverton, Kan., Sherri Otto and her husband, Henry, Carl Junction, and Susan Hubbard and her husband, James, Carl Junction; three sisters, Mary Sue DeCastro and Tressa Lewis, both of Carl Junction, and Margie King, Duenweg; two brothers, Tom DeCastro, Garland, Texas, and Hubert DeCastro, Enid, Okla.; a half-brother, Buster DeCastro, Webb City; seven grandchildren, Jeremy Hubbard, Tiffany Otto, Troy Otto, Tyler Otto, Quinton Bankson, Hunter Bankson and Katie Bankson; and a dear friend, Carmen Thomas. Edna was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; and her beloved grandson, Justin Hubbard on May 29, 2003. Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow in Carl Junction Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Hubbard, Michael Pope, Quinton Bankson, Hunter Bankson, Troy Otto, Tyler Otto, Dennis Tyndall, Michael Tyndall, Henry Otto and Danny Bankson. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time at the mortuary. The family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses at the Freeman Hospital Dialysis Unit for the excellent care they gave to Edna.
