He served in the German Navy. After the war, he came to America in 1950 to build a new life in Illinois. After one year, he sent for his wife, Vera, and young child, Sylvia, in Germany.
Life was busy and good in Illinois, but the Wisconsin climate and landscape was more appealing, so in 1971, he moved the family to Boulder Junction.
Together with his wife, Vera, he opened Lakeland Heating and Air Conditioning, which is owned and operated now by their son, Mark Albertus.
In later years, Otto and Vera also operated a successful real estate business.
Otto was preceded in death by his 36-year-old daughter, Sylvia; his grandson, Jonathan Kryzak; and his sister, Marta Stade.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Vera; his much-loved son, Mark (Chris); and grandchildren, Stephanie and Erik. He is also survived by his sister, Ruth (Gerhard) Goerlich; nieces, Margret
(James) Wells, Christine (Joseph) Weber; and Sylvia’s children, Aaron and Tanya.
Rest in peace, Otto. Our hearts will never leave you.
